Our Pre-Baby Staycay at Quay West Suites Sydney

Mitch and I recently had the privilege of staying at Quay West Suites Sydney for a special pre-baby staycay.

It’s a special window of time for us, with bub only 8 weeks away we’re making the most of time together. Enjoying each other’s company without distraction, eating at beautiful restaurants without looking at the time, sleep-ins, and the little things like grabbing an overnight bag and just walking out the door not to return for a couple of days.

Quay West Suites is located at The Rocks, one of my favourite places, and boasts one of the most spectacular uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour with the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House visible in one frame. The view from our room was insane and I had a bit of a pinch me moment as we walked into the apartment and looked out to the expanse of the harbour, the bridge, the opera house and across to Luna Park. We were spoilt with treats and juices, and a bottle of champagne waiting for us (which Mitch thoroughly enjoyed).

With so much to do in the City and The Rocks we were tempted to head back out the door but couldn’t drag ourselves away from that view, so we nibbled on snacks and clinked glasses, watching the world go by (and the cruise ship prepare to set sail) before heading up to the pool deck.

The pool and spa were ridiculously beautiful with that same stunning aspect looking out at the harbour. At 32 week pregnant, floating is life. It’s not surprising then that we spent most of the afternoon here.

For dinner we ducked downstairs to the newly renovated Quartier Restaurant & Bar. We devoured 3 courses of French cuisine and just enjoyed each other’s company over wine and mocktails. We eventually rolled ourselves to the lift, up to the 17th floor, and into bed knowing breakfast would be arriving to our door in the morning.

Unfortunately we had to get going early to make our prenatal course at the hospital but our stay was one that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Sunset, Sunrise; Sydney Harbour is so bloody beautiful.
