I’m so glad I was introduced to Antipodes Serums & Oils.
It has been featured in my beauty picks before and now there’s a whole new range of serums which are blowing my mind. I’m not a beauty therapist, I’m just a girl with fickle skin so I speak only of my personal experience using these products and the positive affects they’ve had on my skin…
As I hit 30 I can look back on my 20’s and see how my skin has changed. I have a lot of regrets, having not cared a real lot for my skin as a teen with blistering sun burns and having suffered with breakouts since I hit puberty (and still do). I hated my skin growing up and much like my attitude toward people, if you treat me badly I have no time for you… so I had a hate/hate relationship with my skin for that exact reason! Nothing I did helped, and it made me hate looking in the mirror for a good while there. It probably didn’t help that I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) spend the money on good quality products, and jumped from brand to brand and product to product hoping to stumble across THE FIX.
Around my mid 20’s I found a certain sensitivity in my skin, I couldn’t just use any old product any more – those cheap moisturisers I used for years were starting to make me break out (again), and I had the most infuriating patches of dry skin and oilyness, all at once. It was at that time a friend put me onto oils. My mind was blown, an oil? on my face!? So, over the space of a few years I went from bio oil, to Jurlique (which I also still love) and have more recently been introduced to the range from Antipodes.
As I celebrate my 30th I can reflect on how I’ve changed, as I explained in my last post somewhere in my 20’s I feel like I grew into my own skin and came to accept that I am who I am, you work with what you’ve got, and I started to care about myself. That also translates to what I put in, and on, my skin & body.
I’m really excited by the Antipodes brand and the specialised anti-ageing solutions that their serums & oils provide. The range includes both water based serums and rich nourishing oils which are designed to be used in combination to address multiple skin concerns;
WORSHIP Skin Defence Antioxidant Serum – fortifies skin cells against early ageing and free radical damage by utilising the antioxidant potency of NZ-grown superfruit.
APOSTLE Skin-Brightening Serum – helps brighten dull, blemished skin & helps target pigmentation, brighten skin & restore even tone.
HOSANNA H20 Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum – a water charged bioactive serum that immediately quenches thirsty skin & helps to improve skin appearance over time.
CHIA & KIWI SEED Superfood Serum – freshens & moisturises dry skin while balancing oily skin. The formula features oils rich in Omegas 3 & 6, essential fats that blend easily into the skin locking in natural moisture.
DIVINE Organic Avocado & Rosehip Face Oil – addresses signs of ageing and helps boost collagen. This nutrient rich face oil helps deliver antioxidants and essential nourishment for fresh, healthy skin.
JOYOUS Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum – restores elastin, and hydrates dry & mature skin throughout the night.
As explained to us at the gorgeous breakfast event I attended recently at The Gazebo Sydney, these products are designed to be layered – starting with the lightest water-based serums first which are easily absorbed to deliver bioactive ingredients to the cellular level of the skin, followed by the denser oils to seal in moisture. This means you can pick-and-choose-and-use these products in combination based on your individual problem areas and concerns. Makes sense, and makes me happy because it’s a double whammy of goodness – morning and night routines from now on are looking delightful!
Beauty has become a far more important aspect of my life in recent times, and it’s not as superficial as it sounds; it’s tied to overall wellbeing, self esteem and professional confidence. I’ve genuinely been so impressed by the products I’ve tried to date from the Antipodes range and know that what I’m putting on my skin is doing me GOOD, it’s a brand that’s passionate about organic beauty & revolutionary ingredients. I’m excited about being 30, I’m excited about a fresh start, I’m excited about spending the next 10 years showing myself respect and putting some good time and effort into becoming the best version of myself. Cliched? maybe, but this body is our only vehicle in this life, if we write it off there’s no insurance… no replacement new for old! I wish I realised this earlier, but it’s certainly a case of better late than never.
I look forward to sharing my future finding as these products form part of my daily routine… bring on the new chapter!

April 17, 2016 at 10:13 PMOhhhh I might have to add some of these products to my beauty wish list – I too was very hopeless at looking after my skin in my teens and early 20’s ( tanning oil on my face ekkkk ) now as I head towards 30 I’m very careful about the products. Thanks for sharing xoxox

April 18, 2016 at 1:40 PMMight have to try these! Isn’t it funny how we so slack in early 20’s then realise how important it is to keep our skin hydrated! Thanks for the tips. xx

April 24, 2016 at 11:11 AMMy mum always said to me ‘you only have one skin so you need to look after it’. I wish I had done that more in my 20’s but now this is something that I make time for now I am nearing my mid30’s. I love the sound of these products and will definitely be giving them a go. Fab post – thank you so much.
