Welcome to my Boohoo New Year’s Fashion Resolution…
Those that have read my 2015 wrap up, aptly titled sayo-fucking-nara 2015, will know that last year was rough. As the clock struck midnight on New Years I felt an overwhelming sense of relief, and I’m unashamed to say I shared a few tears with my mum, and sis, and agreed as we clinked glasses that 2016 would be better. I made a resolution that was unlike the shallow promises I’d made in the past; to simply enjoy life, and have FUN. So, when an email from boohoo.com hit my inbox asking me to take part in their NY Fashion Resolutions Campaign I jumped at the chance to step outside my style comfort zone and try something bold & fun… in one word, sequins.
Honestly I haven’t worn sequins since my year six formal but I’m constantly lusting over street-style photos of sequin covered fully grown adult women – I just didn’t think I could pull it off without it looking like a weird throwback. Anyway, with inhibitions out the window I vowed that I would try #sequinstyle as my New Year Fashion Resolution for 2016 and chose this skirt from boohoo’s current line up. I don’t really know if I pulled it off or not but I LOVE this skirt. Let’s face it, age is no barrier to the enjoyment one experiences while spinning around in an a-line midi!
