It wasn’t until I was contemplating what to call this post that I realised that this is actually my 5 essential fashion staples. It’s my everyday wardrobe in a nutshell.
These 5 items work together for a simple chic every day look, and they literally work with almost every other item in my wardrobe dressed up, or dressed down, by way of mix & match. So here it is:
My 5 Essential Fashion Staples
1/ The Black Boyfriend Blazer
This one is Milk & Honey from Myer Miss Shop but you can pick up great affordable blazers from loads of different stores, check out ASOS & Boohoo if you’re on the lookout.
2/ The Basic White Tee
My fav basics are from Dotti, Cotton On, Myer Miss Shop… like, basically anywhere. I can never have enough basic tees and I never spend a lot on white – let’s be honest they are like a fly to honey and I can guarantee that coffee and/or food will inevitably find its way onto my body when I’m in white (but they are still 100% essential).
3/ The High Rise Dark Denim Cropped Jean
Another CottonOn feature from the #91denim range. I just can’t speak highly enough about this cut; the skinny 7/8 cropped high rise is so flattering, and crazy affordable at $49.95.
4/ The Simple Black Shoulder Bag
I’ve had this Witchery shoulder bag for aaages, and that’s the beauty of a simple black shoulder bag! It’s chic, timeless, and goes with everything. If I didn’t carry about 6kg of shit in my regular handbag I’d probably use this one all the time.
5/ The Neutral Pump
And last but not least… a classic neutral pointed pump! I fell in love with these grey suede Billini’s from Wanted and couldn’t walk out the door without them. I needed a new pair but these are just gorg – perfect stiletto height, and just a bit spesh with clear panels joining toe cap & heel. Perfect for versatile Autumn styling, and I’m sure you’ll see them paired with ripped jeans and some other basic tee in the near future. And god help us, let’s hope next shoot I have a spray tan so you can actually distinguish between where the shoe finishes and where my skin starts lol! Life of a white girl… #thestruggleisreal
I’ve also thrown a skinny neck scarf into this outfit, such a simple addition and loving them right now. And here’s a HOT TIP – if you want one that no one else has, visit your local op shop (or raid your mums closet) and find some old dresses with waist ties – they are usually tapered to be tied in a bow and you’ll find the best vintage patterns & fabrics!
