Last month Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Aus wrapped up and I was left buzzing but exhausted, and wishing (despite the aching feet) that I could enjoy just a few extra days basking in the glory of total fashion freedom with the amazing #girlsquad who gave me the most epic intro to the pinnacle of the Aus Fash Calendar.
I learnt a lot from the experience, and met so many bloggers and industry peeps it put my head into a spin, and honestly I think I’m still only just coming down from the high.
Faced with a backlog of work I’ve been super slack in bringing this post to the blog, but better late than never!
So, here are some of the best bits of MBFWA Resort17, along with the 5 top trends that will be making their way to my wardrobe in 2017…
#1 Loads of Colour There was loads of brights and loads of white, pastels and notable pops of canary yellow – meaning that there will really be no rules in 2017.
#2 Loads of Texture Lace, sequins, applique, feathers, frills, satin, leather – you name it. Textures & layers will be the name of the game.
#3 Midi + Long Lengths Aside from the swimwear of course, I’m loving the fact that there’s less leg on the cards. Mind you, there was also quite a lot of short-shorts on display which I’m not opposed to when teamed with oversized shirts, vests and blazers which also featured heavily.
#4 Waist Detail Hallelujah. Yep, I’m a fan. Over the week I was thrilled to see exceptionally beautiful waste detailing across dresses, pants and of course that highwasted swimwear.
#5 Shoulder Action One way or another thou shoulders shalt be on display. Strapless numbers, off shoulder styles, new age halters and just generally beautiful strap detailing will make shoulders a focal point in 2017.
Below are some of my fav shows from the week, but you can find them all over at the official MBFWA website.

It was so nice to be surrounded by likeminded, supportive peeps. So.much.fun.
Until next time…
